On behalf of the board, staff, volunteers and patients, I would like to extend a warm New Year greeting to all our wonderful supporters.

Last year we initiated a Hospice Hero campaign. This campaign aimed to provide our supporters with a means of funding the direct costs associated with our programme of Palliative Hospice Home-based Care.

This programme raised over R170,000.00.

You are all truly amazing and we are deeply grateful for this support.

We would like to extend our Hospice Hero campaign in 2024. We invite everyone to contribute towards the direct costs associated with providing Palliative Hospice Home-Based Care to our patients and their loved ones. These costs have escalated slightly during 2023 to approximately R730.00 per patient or loved one per month. (these figures will be finalised once the financial audit has been completed in May 2024). Any contribution towards these costs will be deeply appreciated.

Our target for 2024 is R200,000.00

Donations made to this programme are earmarked for the direct costs associated with our Home-Based care programme. Our objective is to ensure that all our patients and their loved ones have quality of life while living with a life-threatening illness. Our wonderful care team provide clinical care with the intention of managing pain and controlling symptoms of the illness; they provide emotional and social support and where necessary spiritual care. Clinical equipment is also available to our patients and provided free of charge when available. Where patients are part of a medical aid that covers Palliative Care their medical aid is invoiced.

All donations are individually acknowledged each month and donors are entitled to a Section 18(A) receipt (on request) which they can use in their submissions to SARS. As we begin this year we call on you to become a Hospice Hero.
